Over the past few days, aggressive toxin-spewing spiders, a strange nocturnal critter and a non-native man-eating fish have all been discovered in this area.

Eastman says their most recent chemical oopsie into the Holston River caused no harm. (TDEC agrees.) Of course, the other option was to say, “Woooh Boy, we really messed some shiit up that time.”
More here – and just to be on the safe side, I’d throw the fish back.

Never go fishing with a bottle of wine – and no corkscrew. You’ll spend very little time fishing and lots of time studying upon the rocks, thinking: “Well, if I hit the bottleneck jes’ right, maybe…”
Also, there is no law stating that you cannot fish in the rain.

There’s a piece of bad legislation quietly floating around the state legislature: and I nearly missed it. Apparently, Rep. Sherry Jones [D - Nashville] and Sen. Beverly Marrero [D - Memphis] have introduced a bill to abolish Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
