Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission voted last week on the 2008-2009 duck season. Those commissioners representing East Tennesee (Mike Chase, Gary Kimsey and Rogersville’s Buddy Baird) are blasted by Bob Hodge for “hanging their constituent duck hunters out to dry.” All three voted in favor of limiting Tennessee hunters to one hen mallard per day, although biologists from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency had recommended two.

  1. Ed Baird says:

Most duck hunters never shoot a Hen ( girl duck) mallard or any hen for that matter. Every hen killed in her prime means you kill 80 or so other ducks ( her offsprings ). I don’t know why Bob has his shorts in wad. Buddy and I know Bob well and have hunted with him, he knows why Brother Buddy voted that way, maybe he was just trying to sell papers. O wait newspaper folk would never do that.Wink Wink
