David Davis conceded the election to Phil Roe. It’s done. There’s no point in picking-on the guy now. It’s time for us to move on. But first, I must draw your attention to this one last story because I need your advice on proper blogging etiquette.
My question is: for blogging purposes, would it be acceptable for me to change the headline from:
Davis concedes, says delay designed to point out that Roe won with ‘illegal votes’
to something like:
OMG! Did *Hank Hayes Mention Rob Russell Four Times in Two Weeks?
Russell, a teacher and administrator who ran his primary campaign on a shoestring budget, said he has rallies lined up in district counties to get his general election effort moving forward.
“There are a lot of people helping me out as far as volunteers go. … There are Democrats, independents … so I need a chance to pull all those folks together and move in the right direction,” Russell said.A Democrat hasn’t held the 1st Congressional District seat since Reconstruction.
Should Roe defeat Kingsport Democrat Rob Russell in November, as expected...
Kingsport Democrat Rob Russell won the Democratic primary and will face the Republican nominee in the November general election.
Roe will face Kingsport Democrat Rob Russell in the district’s fall general election.
A Democrat hasn’t been elected to fill the district’s seat since the 19th century.
Also, does this acknowledgment of Russell’s campaign call for a celebration? If so, would it be appropriate to send Hank an invitation?
*Please note this is all in good fun. Truth is my theory that Hank Hayes is part of the vast right wing conspiracy may be flawed. Here’s why: (1) I’d previously accused Hayes of having a bias and issued a challenge. Hank rose to the challenge. The effort should be noted. (2) Daddy hasn’t spotted Hank at any of the secret vast right wing conspiracy meetings.
Furthermore, while it has been brought to my attention by the Democrat-next-Door that a majority of those statements about Russell have been discouraging, I have to point out they’re factual and not at all unusual. Statements regarding the historical improbability of a Democrat being elected in the 1st will become a recurring “add-on phrase” throughout Russell’s campaign – similar to how the unlikelihood of unseating an incumbent had been frequently mentioned throughout Davis’ race against Roe. (And just look what happened there.)
Ultimately, it is my opinion that the Democrat-next-door should stop fretting about Hank and start worrying more about if (or when) Phil Roe will have Mama deliver her trademark Granny-Smackdown on Russell.
