TriCities.com reports that Congressman David Davis has conceded the District-1 Senate Republican race to Johnson City Mayor Dr. Phil Roe - even though ya’ll broke the law and he’s just doing his job by pointing it out. News Channel 11 reporter George Jackson interviews Davis about his plans for the future.

There was an anonymous group in Carter Co. meddling with the election. Follow this link to their radio ad concerning the Cochran/Williams race.

Sounds like a typical smear spot to me – so I’m not sure I’d call it meddling as much as just a nasty bit of gutter ruckin’.
And regardless of how you interpret state law or your opinion on what type of primary we should have in Tennessee: this type of campaigning would still go on.
Wasn’t terribly effective though, was it?
We here in the first Dist, were lucky to have had David Davis representing us in Whashington as well as Nashville.
Thank you Congressman Davis for your efforts. Going forward I just don’t think I can drink the Roe kool aid. His team does too much gutter ruckin ( as you call it ) for my taste.
That means you’ll be voting for Rob Russell?
Oh my, Angie you must know that I am a good ol Mountain Rebublican (hell I even have a poster of Ronald Reagan in my basement ) So I ask, how could I ever vote on that side of the creek. Think I will write in Bill Jenkins. Ah the good ol days.
Ronald Reagan in your basement…. this made me laugh.
I have to remind you though – Mountain `Publican code of proper votin’ conduct specifies: if you don’t vote, you can’t complain. Rules on write-ins haven’t been clarified… although as supporter of the opposing campaign, you may be entitled to limited “I told you so” rights.
Hi, Ed. Hi, Angelia.
What bothers me most is that no one seems to remember the actual purpose of a party’s primary election.
