I told Rufus the Cousin, “They’ve declared a mistrial.”
“This is over a belt buckle?”
“Yeah… and maybe a shirt too but, you know, with the confederate flag on it.”
“They can come back to court and do this all over again?”
“I think so.”
“Won’t it be appealed anyway?”
“Probably.”
“This is all to debate about that white boy’s freedom of speech?”
“I guess.”
“Would have been cheaper to let that boy wear it and take his own chances with getting his @ss whupped.”
“Huh?”
“Well, how much is all that court costing us?”
“I don’t know.”
“Well, speech is free. Lawyers ain’t. That’s all I’m saying.”
