According to the Times-News, David F. Henegar of Rogersville came home from church last Sunday and discovered his Chevy truck had been stolen, his 4-wheeler was gone, his guns were missing and his house  has been ransacked.  Furthermore, the thieves busted the glass in the door to gain entry to his house.

Retired U.S. District Judge Thomas Hull of Greeneville, who spent 23 years on the federal bench, died Tuesday. He was 82.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Asbury United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Greenelawn Memorial Gardens.

The House of Prayer, a small, non-denominational church located along Milligan Highway, routinely holds yard sales to make money for charity.  Overseer Gary Barnett says the sales bring in anywhere from $100 to $300.

Apparently, at the June 23, 2008 meeting of the county commission, a local politician jumped on a stump to do a lil’ campaigning. (If I’m not mistaken it was State Rep. candidate Richard Gabriel.)
