Rogersville’s Main Street Program will be holding their second cruise-in event this Friday, June 13th in downtown Rogersville from 5-9pm.

There will be inflatables for the kiddies (courtesy of the PartyBounce people) and Eagle Creek Band will perform on the courthouse lawn. (Preview sound here.)

Main Street will be blocked off for the event, so if you’re passing through, plan to make a detour. And yes, I realize the date is Friday 13th, which is why I will be wearing these for earrings (After all, everyone knows cheap junk manufactured in China wards off bad luck.)

Now, if you miss this event don’t worry. Cruise-In’s will be held on the second Friday of each month from June until September.

<– Oh, by the way, this is Bill: Rogersville’s Ace Reporter and the former Mayor of Bulls Gap. Since I blog him so frequently I thought I should introduce him to ya’ll.

  1. Deborah Metcalf says:

Hm, you accidentally forgot to mention whether or not beer will be available at this one like it was at the last!

    LOL. No, don’t answer that.

  2. demarcationville says:

I’d best answer before the Baptists get their bloomers in a twist – no, there will be no beer sold at the event.

  3. Kandy Hobbs says:

To further clarify, we did not sell beer at the first Cruise In. However, if that is your cup of tea, you may have a beer with your meal at East Tennessee Wings. I will have the tea. LOL

Angie, thanks for promoting the Cruise In!

  4. Deborah Metcalf says:

Well what was all the big to-do about it then? Was the whatever with the beer that was scheduled the same time and place a different event then?

I wouldn’t dare buy beer at such an event. If I was ever seen drinking in public I fear angry hordes of members of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and their Scientific Temperance Instruction League would stampede up my street with pitchforks and torches to set my house on fire for being an infidel.

  5. Kandy Hobbs says:

The BBQ and Bluegrass Party was sponsored by the Heritage Association in the Crockett Springs Park.

The Cruise In is hosted by the Rogersville Main Street Program. The first one (May 23) was the Memory Lane Cruise In. Tonight was sponsored by Citizens Bank. The Cruise In is held monthly on the second Friday.

We had 80-100 cars tonight. Eagles Creek Band performed in front of the Courthouse. Party Bounce, for children, was set up next to the Hale Springs Inn.

    Next one is July 11 @ 6:00.

Some folks might argue you selected the wrong three letter word beginning with the letter A.

Also worth noting, I had a full head of dark hair until four terms of the mayor thing.

Keep up the amusing and interesting work.
