Goody’s Family Clothing filed Chapter 11 bankrupcy Monday in U.S. District Court in Delaware where the company is incorporated. The Rogersville Goody’s store will not be affected by the move, but TriCities.com reports the store in Kingsport will soon shut its doors. (Didn’t see that one coming.)
According to Knox News, a total of 103 stores, including the 69 targeted as part of the reorganization, were operating at a loss and will close by the end of the year.
Other Tennessee stores closing as part of the restructuring plan are Hamilton Place, Northgate, Clarksville and Chattanooga, East Gate. (A complete listing can be found at Goody’s website.)
