University of Tennessee men’s basketball coach, Bruce Pearl will be the guest speaker at the 31st annual Morristown Parks and Recreation Hall of Fame banquet, sponsored by the Citizen Tribune. The ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. on June 18 at ‘’Z’’ Buda Gymnasium on the campus of Walters State Community College and is by invitation only.

“We are delighted that coach Pearl is joining us to honor this year’s Hall of Fame inductees,” said R. Michael Fishman, Citizen Tribune publisher/editor. “His passion for winning and the game of basketball is the same passion the Citizen Tribune has regarding the recognition of the men and women who give of themselves to build our youth.”

You know, as far as publishers go, I like R. Michael, son of R. Jack. I mean – he’s easy on the eyes and the paper doesn’t suck. Still, as part of his passion regarding the recognition of the men and women who give of themselves to build our youth, you’d think he might mention their names in the same article.

Oh well.
The 2008 Hall of Fame class includes: Jeff Elkins, Andre Fee, James McClain and Billy Russell.
