Open the pages of Secrets, Lies and Pies by Fall Branch author Lisa Hall, and you will find yourself smack dab in the middle of Coleman, Virginia. The town is small, but the talk is big! Whether it is the dish on a hot celebrity couple or the latest local scandal, it seems folks are obsessed with gossip.

Hawkins County readers will adore this cautionary yet hilarious tale of how a rumor can take on a life of its own. (And as we’ve all wanted to smack a meddling biddy in the mouth once or twice, we can relate.)

Lisa will be hosting a book signing April 26 at the Jubilee Gallery in Rogersville starting at Noon.

For more information about Lisa or her books, visit her website. The book is also available for purchase through Mountain Girl Press, Barnes and Noble and Amazon books.

Ok, well obviously the first question to ask is what in tarnation is the Jubilee Gallery ?!?!?!?!

So I had a google and found it:

Ah, I have actually been there when they opened, but I forgot all about it. So I post here for other people to find it – there’s a map at the above link. It’s an old farmhouse out towards Church Hill, I think just past the Jehovah’s Witnesses church building, but on the other side of the road, and you have to drive on the side road a little bit to get to it.

It’s actually an extremely cool place, but since it is a art gallery in someone’s house I’ve always been scared to go there, certain that they are probably not open, and then I finally just forgot about it. It’s one of those businesses in an odd enough location where if it survives you can honestly say the proprietors must be the hardest working people around.

Oh, and start from the EAST side of Carter’s loop, that makes the drive faster, a few hundred feet from 11. If you instead take the first Carter’s loop you see you’ll be in for a heck of a drive.
